Commissioned by the Special Projects Department to produce a series of advertorials (sponsored editorial sections) covering technology and economic development topics, including one produced for the governor of Pennsylvania. Have also produced advertorials for other top publications, including Forbes, Barron’s, and the U.K.’s Investor Relations.

Co-founder and chief editorial officer for start-up, venture-backed publisher of customized online magazines and provider of direct e-marketing services for businesses and membership-based organizations. Hired and coached freelance writers and creative staff. The experience was profiled in The Wall Street Journal.

Led marketing component, with staff and budget responsibilities, for the provider of transportation logistics and packaging products for hazardous materials, including radioactive waste. Helped the company deal with the downturn in the core market by identifying (market research) potential new vertical markets and then developed a campaign to generate leads in those sectors. Produced collateral materials, ads, direct mail, Web site, and e-newsletter; managed trade shows; and handled all PR.
